Dynamic model with slip for wheeled omnidirectional robots

چکیده
A dynamic model is presented for omnidirectional wheeled mobile robots, including wheel/motion surface slip. We derive the dynamics model, experimentally measure friction coefficients, and measure the force to cause slip (to validate our friction model). Dynamic simulation examples are presented to demonstrate omnidirectional motion with slip. After developing an improved friction model, compared to our initial model, the simulation results agree well with experimentally-measured trajectory data with slip. Initially, we thought that only high robot velocity and acceleration governed the resulting slipping motion. However, we learned that the rigid material existing in the discontinuities between omnidirectional wheel rollers plays an equally important role in determining omnidirectional mobile robot dynamic slip motion, even at low rates and accelerations.

متن کاملControl of Wheeled Mobile Manipulators with Flexible Suspension Considering Wheels Slip Effects
Wheeled mobile manipulators utilize both the locomotion capabilities of the wheeled platform and manipulation capacity of the arm. While the modelling and control of such systems have previously been studied, most of them have considered robots with rigid suspension and their wheels are subject to pure rolling conditions. To relax the aforementioned limiting assumptions, this research addresses...
متن کاملEnhanced 3D Kinematic Modeling of Wheeled Mobile Robots
Most fielded wheeled mobile robots (WMRs) today use basic 2D kinematic motion models in their planning, control, and estimation systems. On uneven or low traction terrain, or during aggressive maneuvers, higher fidelity models are required which account for suspension articulations, wheel slip, and liftoff. In this paper we present a simple, algorithmic method to construct 3D kinematic models f...
متن کاملAdaptive Trajectory Tracking and Stabilization for Omnidirectional Mobile Robot with Dynamic Effect and Uncertainties
This paper presents an adaptive backstepping control method for trajectory tracking and stabilization of an omnidirectional wheeled mobile robot with parameter variations and uncertainties caused by friction and slip. The dynamic model of the robot with three independent driving omnidirectional wheels equally spaced at 120 degrees from one another is briefly introduced. With the dynamic model, ...
